The Mississippi Artificial Intelligence Network (MAIN), spearheaded by Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (MGCCC), initially launched through strategic collaborations with all 15 Mississippi community colleges, universities, and global technology leaders Intel and Dell Technologies.

Since its inception, MAIN has expanded its network to include new partners such as the Mississippi Department of Information Technology Services (ITS) and Amazon Web Services (AWS), further strengthening its impact. This growing alliance now spans private institutions, K-12 education, state government, law enforcement, military, and business sectors, positioning Mississippi as a national leader in AI education, workforce training, and innovation.

MAIN has educational partnerships with all 15 community colleges: Coahoma, Co-Lin, East Central, East Mississippi, Hinds, Holmes, Itawamba, Jones, Meridian, MGCCC, Mississippi Delta, NEMCC, Northwest, Pearl River, and Southwest—as well as universities: Jackson State Univeristy, Delta State University, Mississippi State University, the University of Southern Mississippi, the University of Mississippi, Alcorn State University, and the Mississippi University for Women.

MAIN continues to welcome member organizations from across Mississippi, including the Institutions of Higher Learning (IHL), the Mississippi Department of Education (MDE), the Mississippi Cyber Initiative (MCI), the Center for Cyber Education (CCE), and more.

MAIN has also welcomed private member institutions, including Tougaloo College, Millsaps College, Belhaven University, Rust College, William Carey University, and Mississippi College.

MAIN has established a robust network among its members, fostering collaboration to enhance Mississippi’s capabilities. Through research, education, innovation, and awareness initiatives, MAIN strives to position the state as a leader in artificial intelligence (AI). Collaboration is key to MAIN’s success, reflecting a collective effort to advance Mississippi’s standing in the AI field.
