About Dr. Kollin R. Napier

Dr. Kollin Napier serves as Director of the Mississippi Artificial Intelligence Network (MAIN), leading the state’s strategy for AI literacy, workforce development, and applied AI adoption.
His work spans higher education, K–12 education, state and local government, and business and industry. He is based at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.
Dr. Napier works closely with the Governor’s Office, state agencies, legislators, school districts, colleges and universities, and industry partners to support Mississippi’s long-term economic competitiveness.
He chairs the Mississippi AI Workforce Readiness Council and serves on the state’s Artificial Intelligence Regulation (AIR) Task Force. He has also provided expert testimony at the state and federal levels, including before the United States Congress.
Under his leadership, MAIN has delivered tens of thousands of hours of no-cost AI training statewide, expanding access to AI labs, infrastructure, and workforce programs.
Get Involved with MAIN
MAIN collaborates with educators, students, businesses, policymakers, and industry leaders statewide to expand AI education and workforce training opportunities. Through partnerships with all 15 Mississippi community colleges, universities, and industry leaders, MAIN offers no-cost, self-paced AI courses — including Intro to AI, Generative AI, AI for Manufacturing, and Cybersecurity.
Workforce participants may earn professional development credentials. K–12 educators may obtain CEU, SEMI, and OSL credits when available.
