Delta State University Partners with MAIN to Expand AI Access in the Delta
Delta State University (DSU) has officially joined the Mississippi Artificial Intelligence Network (MAIN) as a partner, further solidifying its commitment to AI education and workforce development. While DSU has long been an active supporter of MAIN’s mission, this new partnership marks a significant step in expanding AI opportunities across the Delta region.
DSU has already demonstrated its leadership in AI education by hosting MAIN Director Dr. Kollin Napier as the featured speaker for the annual Kent Wyatt Distinguished Lecture, where he explored AI’s transformative impact. The university also convened a panel discussion featuring representatives from other MAIN partner institutions, fostering collaboration on the future of AI in higher education.
As an official MAIN partner, DSU will now integrate AI-focused curriculum and training into its academic programs, providing students, faculty, and industry professionals with cutting-edge AI skills. Additionally, the university will establish a MAIN AI Lab, offering a dedicated space for hands-on learning, research, and innovation.
“Delta State has been a valuable advocate for AI education, and we are excited to officially welcome them as a MAIN partner,” said Dr. Kollin Napier, Director of MAIN. “This partnership will ensure that students, educators, and businesses in the Delta region have direct access to AI training, resources, and workforce development opportunities.”
By joining forces, DSU and MAIN are expanding AI education and workforce readiness, ensuring that AI-driven innovation and opportunity reach all corners of Mississippi.
