Mississippi Air National Guard AI workforce readiness was the focus of a recent briefing led by Dr. Kollin Napier, Director of the Mississippi Artificial Intelligence Network (MAIN).

The briefing took place at the Gulfport Combat Readiness Training Center. First, Dr. Napier shared updates on MAIN’s statewide work. Then, he discussed how practical AI skills can support mission readiness, workforce development, and long-term public service needs.

During the session, Dr. Napier highlighted how AI is changing the way organizations plan, communicate, analyze information, and train teams. These changes matter for military, education, government, and industry partners across Mississippi.

In addition, the briefing emphasized that AI should strengthen human judgment rather than replace it. Responsible use, clear policy, and practical training are essential as new tools become part of daily work.

MAIN’s message to Airmen was direct: AI literacy is becoming a core workforce skill. As a result, Mississippi organizations that build this capability early will be better prepared for future challenges and opportunities.
