Free AI Training and CEUs for Mississippi Teachers

Eligible Mississippi K-12 teachers can earn continuing education units at no cost through approved AI training from the Mississippi Artificial Intelligence Network (MAIN). The training is free, the CEU claim process is free, and eligible courses are online and self-paced.

MAIN is Mississippi’s coordinated statewide AI initiative and the first of its kind in the nation. MAIN provides free AI professional learning for educators across the state, and eligible K-12 educators can claim CEUs for approved MAIN training through an established process handled by Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.

How it works

Earning CEUs through MAIN involves a few clear steps. Credit is issued after your completed work is verified, so plan for the full process rather than same-day credit.

1. Choose a free AI course. Start with an eligible course such as Intro to GenAI. Courses are online, self-paced, and open to educators statewide. Browse free AI courses

2. Complete the required work. Finish each module fully and spend adequate time on the material. Completion and time on task are verified before credit is issued.

3. Follow the CEU claim instructions. Submit one claim per completed module using the official form, and include all required information. Current instructions, requirements, and deadlines are on the professional learning credit page. See CEU claim instructions

4. Keep documentation for your records. Claims are processed by MGCCC and your CEU certificate is sent by email. Processing takes several weeks. Save your certificate and completion records for your district’s requirements.

What training is eligible

CEUs are available for approved MAIN modules, currently the Intro to GenAI series. Each module requires its own claim submission. Other MAIN training, including NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute resources, builds valuable skills but check the professional learning credit page before assuming a course is CEU-eligible. Registration windows and submission deadlines change, so always confirm current dates on the credit page before you start. Check current requirements and deadlines

For school and district leaders

MAIN works with schools and districts across Mississippi that want AI professional learning for their staff. Teachers can complete eligible training and claim CEUs individually at no cost to the district. MAIN also publishes free AI policy and guidance templates for K-12 schools, and district teams can request a MAIN speaker for in-service days or leadership meetings.
