Common questions about dates and CEUs

Are MAIN courses really free?
Yes. Current courses in MAIN’s course catalog are free, online, self-paced, and open to anyone. Registration, delivery, and access steps vary by course, so use the catalog for current details.
Do I have to wait until 2027 to start?
Free AI training is open now through June 30, 2027. FY27 means fiscal year 2027: July 1, 2026–June 30, 2027. You can enroll and start learning now; you do not need to wait until 2027.
Can I earn CEUs?
K-12 educators can earn professional learning credit through qualifying MAIN course options. Review the professional learning credit page for current eligible courses, documentation, claim steps, and deadlines.
When are CEU requests due?
All CEU requests for eligible MAIN courses through MGCCC are due June 21, 2027 at 11:59 p.m. Central Time. This includes AI for Educators and CEU-eligible Industry AI Courses through Coursera. Complete the required learning before requesting credit; the CEU deadline is earlier than the June 30 training end date. Review CEU requirements and request steps.
What if my license renews before June?
If your license renews before June, complete your training and submit your CEU request well before your renewal date. Verification and processing may take several weeks. Do not wait until the June deadline if you need your CEUs sooner.

K–12: learn, plan, and review one activity

Start with a teacher-prepared activity using your school’s approved tools and information. Keep school and district approval requirements in place.

  1. Learn: ChatGPT Foundations for Teachers covers classroom workflows, privacy, and human review. See the course for enrollment steps.
  2. Practice: use the K–12 playbook lesson planner to define the learning goal, supplied sources, and AI boundary for one activity.
  3. Review: follow the bounded workflows and material verification checklist. Check facts, instructional fit, accessibility, and student information before using generated material.
