Dr. Kollin Napier is the Director of the Mississippi Artificial Intelligence Network (MAIN). He delivered the keynote address at the SACAD Annual Membership Luncheon in Nashville. SACAD, the Southern Association of Colleges with Associate Degrees, brings together institutional leaders from 11 states.
Mississippi Statewide AI Strategy
Dr. Napier’s keynote centered on the Mississippi statewide AI strategy. He showed how Mississippi moved from conversation to action on artificial intelligence. As a result, MAIN drives that momentum. It aligns government, education, and industry under one coordinated approach.
During the keynote, Dr. Napier outlined MAIN’s role in advancing the Mississippi statewide AI strategy. MAIN provides strategic leadership for colleges and universities. In addition, MAIN expands AI literacy and training across the state. Furthermore, MAIN aligns credentials with current and future workforce demand. The network also supports employers as AI becomes standard across all industries.
MAIN operates through a unified statewide framework. Therefore, this approach creates consistency, scale, and measurable outcomes. Isolated efforts cannot achieve what a coordinated system can. Consequently, Mississippi is leading the nation in coordinated AI leadership.
MAIN and Regional Workforce Readiness
The SACAD session gave Dr. Napier the opportunity to share Mississippi’s model with regional leaders. There, he demonstrated how focused leadership turns emerging technology into workforce readiness and economic impact. The audience included higher education decision-makers from 11 states across the South.
MAIN connects Mississippi’s public colleges, universities, state agencies, and industry partners. Together, they advance the Mississippi statewide AI strategy at every level of education and work.
