AI in Mississippi
Mississippi has a working statewide approach to artificial intelligence. MAIN is Mississippi’s statewide AI initiative and the first of its kind in the nation, connecting education, workforce development, government, industry, and technology so people can find the right resources and move from interest to responsible use.

Artificial intelligence work in Mississippi spans several organizations with defined roles. State government sets direction for its agencies. The Legislature studies regulation. The Mississippi Department of Education publishes K-12 guidance. Workforce leaders coordinate talent priorities. Colleges and universities teach, research, and support adoption.
Established in 2023 and anchored at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, MAIN coordinates statewide AI education, workforce training, partnerships, and responsible adoption. MAIN brings together all public and private universities and community colleges in Mississippi alongside state government, workforce leadership, industry, and technology partners.
MAIN does not regulate AI use or replace guidance issued by public authorities. It makes the statewide picture usable through training, practical implementation resources, convening, and connections to the appropriate source.
