The first Mississippi Artificial Intelligence Network (MAIN) quarterly meeting of 2025 concluded a productive week with valuable discussions and collaboration.
This joint meeting with the Mississippi Department of Information Technology Services (ITS) brought together representatives from state government agencies to focus on Governor Reeves’ Executive Order on AI (ITS), the launch of the AI Innovation Hub (AWS+ITS+MAIN), and the progress and future of MAIN from Director, Dr. Kollin Napier.
A national perspective was provided by the National Association of State Chief Information Officers (NASCIO), along with insights from industry leaders—Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google, Microsoft, and Deloitte. Discussions explored AI’s evolving role, tools, and applications, leading to a thought-provoking panel discussion on the present and future of AI.
Gratitude goes to everyone who attended and contributed to this impactful event. Special appreciation to ITS—Dr. Craig Orgeron, Stephanie Hedgepeth, Brian Norwood, and many more—for hosting, and to AWS—Chris Salmon—for providing lunch and their tremendous support in making this happen.
Exciting opportunities lie ahead for AI and innovation in Mississippi in 2025!
