Dr. Kollin Napier at the Mississippi Nurses’ Association’s 115th Annual Convention in Biloxi on October 23, 2026.

Napier, Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer of the Mississippi Artificial Intelligence Network (MAIN), Mississippi’s statewide AI initiative, led a session on AI strategy, policy, and responsible adoption in nursing practice. Its focus included how nurses can help guide AI use while maintaining patient safety and professional judgment.

Participants shared feedback and raised questions and concerns that developed into an extended discussion. Napier welcomed the exchange and gave it time, even though that meant leaving some slides uncovered. Participants’ eagerness to learn more made the conversation a welcome part of the session.

Napier expressed appreciation to MNA for the invitation and to the participating nurses for contributing openly.
