Alcorn State University highlighted its work with NVIDIA at a campus event it called NVIDIA Day on September 15. In its account of the event, the university pointed to classroom teaching, faculty research, professional training and certifications. Alcorn is already a partner in the Mississippi Artificial Intelligence Network (MAIN), the state’s AI initiative.

From lab capacity to campus use
Alcorn announced a separate agreement with NVIDIA in April and outlined a DGX Spark laboratory that would begin with 15 systems and expand to 25. MAIN’s earlier report explained how that plan builds on the AI lab Alcorn had already established through MAIN with AccelerateMS support.
At the April announcement, Alcorn connected the planned lab to teacher preparation, agriculture and access for first-generation and Pell-eligible students.
Part of Mississippi’s larger NVIDIA work
Mississippi’s 2025 MOU with NVIDIA sets statewide goals for AI education, educator training, workforce development and research. It names MAIN as a collaborator on programs across colleges and universities and calls for access to NVIDIA teaching resources and certification pathways. AccelerateMS identifies Alcorn as a MAIN partner.
Alcorn’s own agreement and NVIDIA Day are campus-level developments within that broader effort. MAIN coordinates the statewide network; Alcorn is shaping how its students and faculty can take part.
