Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (MGCCC) and the Mississippi Artificial Intelligence Network (MAIN) are proud to share that Dr. Kollin Napier, Director of MAIN, has been selected for the Leadership Mississippi Class of 2026.

Leadership Mississippi is a statewide leadership development program of the Mississippi Business Alliance Foundation, presented by Community Bank. It brings together leaders from business, government, healthcare, education, and civic organizations. As a result, participants gain a broader view of the forces shaping Mississippi’s future.

Why this matters for MAIN and Mississippi

MAIN is Mississippi’s coordinated statewide AI initiative. Therefore, our focus is practical AI adoption and AI workforce readiness. Dr. Napier’s selection strengthens relationships across sectors. In turn, that helps align AI training with employer needs and talent pathways.

  • Cross-sector collaboration: Builds connections with key industries and institutions across Mississippi.
  • Workforce alignment: Supports MAIN’s work to map AI skills to career pathways and priorities.
  • Statewide impact: Encourages responsible AI use through education, upskilling, and shared practices.

About Leadership Mississippi

The program is a year-long experience. It includes site visits and issue briefings. In addition, participants engage with thought leaders across Mississippi. For example, sessions focus on economic drivers, public policy, and regional opportunity. Ultimately, the program builds relationships that support long-term collaboration.

Looking ahead

Dr. Napier looks forward to learning alongside the 2026 cohort. Next, he will bring insights back to MGCCC and MAIN. As a result, we can continue building a stronger workforce and future-ready communities across Mississippi.
