Dr. Kollin Napier, Director of the Mississippi Artificial Intelligence Network (MAIN), has received the Rising Star Manager Award from the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC). AACC presented the honor during its Awards of Excellence Gala. The gala was held April 12-16 in Nashville, Tennessee.
About the Rising Star Manager Award
The Rising Star Manager Award recognizes emerging leaders in the community college system. Honorees make exceptional contributions through innovation, leadership, and dedication to student and institutional success. Notably, Dr. Napier stood out nationally for his work advancing artificial intelligence (AI) across Mississippi’s community colleges and several four-year institutions.

Leading MAIN at MGCCC
As Director of MAIN, Dr. Napier helped establish Mississippi’s first statewide AI network within the community college system. Under his leadership, MGCCC has become a hub for innovation. As a result, the college now offers specialized AI courses, workshops, and partnerships. These give students hands-on experience with technologies shaping the future workforce.
