GULFPORT, Miss. — The Mississippi Artificial Intelligence Network (MAIN) has launched a new lineup of no-cost, short-term online artificial intelligence courses for Mississippi learners in July 2026. The courses are designed for workforce members, students, educators and residents who want practical AI skills without enrolling for a full semester.
The initial lineup includes five self-paced MAIN AI Foundations courses and two Industry AI Courses currently available through Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (MGCCC), with additional courses coming soon. Courses are online, free to Mississippi participants and require no prior AI experience.
MAIN AI Foundations
Each MAIN AI Foundations course earns a micro-credential:
- NVIDIA Generative AI
- AI for Manufacturing
- AI for Healthcare
- AI for Business
- Intel AI for Educators (K-12) — includes a micro-credential and up to 2.4 Continuing Education Units (CEUs)
New Industry AI Courses Through MGCCC
- Microsoft 365 Copilot
- Google AI Professional Certificate
Coursera access is specific to MGCCC. To request access, email MAIN@mgccc.edu. Additional courses are coming soon.
How to Enroll
Open enrollment runs from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027. To begin, visit the MAIN courses page and follow the MGCCC enrollment instructions. When creating or updating an MGCCC Workforce Solutions profile, enter the class unlock key ai27.
MGCCC is currently the only institution offering the new MAIN AI Foundations courses and Industry AI Courses. MAIN plans to provide the AI Foundations courses to additional participating partner institutions for future rollout; Coursera access will remain specific to MGCCC.
